5 Beauty Resolutions for the New Year

2017 has been a great year! I’m so excited to see what 2018 has in store for me, my loved ones, and all my followers! I’ve had people ask me what I think their beauty resolutions should be for the next year. So here are my top 5 tips to have a successful 2018!
1. Resolve to drink more water
Being adequately hydrated leads to so many different health benefits. Inside, drinking water helps remove toxins as well as support your joints and other bodily tissues (source). On the outside, hydration helps reduce dry skin and prevent future wrinkles (source). The skin is an organ that needs to be quenched just like other parts of your body!
2. Resolve to stick to your skin care regimen
The new year is a perfect time to start new habits. That might mean going to the gym more or starting a better diet. It’s also the perfect time to begin a better skin care regimen – and stick to it! Using new beauty products for a short period of time will still show you some results, but your skin will really show a difference after a few months of using good skin products and following a strict routine. Vow to stick to your regimen this January!
3. Resolve to protect yourself from the sun
I’ve said this a thousand times, but I can’t stress how important it is to protect your skin from UV rays! In addition to the obvious threat of skin cancer, the sun rays can cause other harm to your skin such as wrinkles and sun damage. Being outside is great – the sun can enhance your mood and it’s important to get fresh air daily. But protect your skin with strong sunscreen such as my Perfecting Sunshield – SPF 50 with green tea and other vitamins to moisturize and enhance the skin.
4. Resolve to balance your budget
We’re leaving financial stress in 2017. This new year should be a year of fiscal responsibility, so you can sleep soundly at night and not worry about your bills. However, don’t become so frugal that it stresses you out! You shouldn’t miss out on the things that make you really happy – whether that be botox from me, a monthly pedicure, or a fancy $8 latte every once in a while. This year, learn to balance your budget between saving and treating yourself. After all, you deserve to have your fun!
5. Resolve to improve one thing you don’t like about yourself
I’m leaving this one open ended for you. Whether it’s a physical feature or an emotional one, whether it’s big or small, take one thing you want to change about yourself and tackle it head on in 2018. Whatever other goals you might have, remember to put your well-being first. Everyone has things that they want to improve, and even if it’s a slow process, the only thing that matters is that you don’t stop. Whether it’s a noticeable difference or an invisible one, improving yourself will make you happy, which will make you even more beautiful!
