What is Glycolic Acid?
Glycolic Acid is part of the (AHA) family of natural ingredients. It is derived from sugar cane and is essentially a fruit acid.
- The smallest molecular size of all AHAs and therefore is believed to penetrate the skin more easily
- The penetration allows for better results at lower concentrations and it provides results with a lower incidence of irritation and side effects
- Studies support the fact that Glycolic Acid formulations provide the highest degree of benefits when compared to other cosmetically used AHAs
How Does Glycolic Acid Work?
- Helps gently slough or exfoliate the skin’s dead cells layer
- Supports cellular renewal when the dead cell layers of the stratum corneum (the skins outer most layer) are removed
- Moisturizes by bringing water molecules from the environment into the skin, and by pulling water molecules from the lower levels of the skin to the dryer, upper layers of the skin
