Learn about the Red, White, and Blue of Skin!

Red: Rosacea

Rosacea is a skin condition that causes redness in the face, most commonly affecting middle-aged women with fair skin. While it is incurable and often controlled by environmental factors, there are a few ways to treat the condition! Medications and oral antibiotics are good options if you see a physician for your rosacea. Topical treatments, like my Triple Shot Serum are also amazing! White: Dry Skin

Hydration: Lots of acne products can be drying, so this month we are focusing on bringing moisture and hydration back to the skin. An easy first step is drinking more water. Drinking water can not only prevent dry skin and flaking, but it also improves skin elasticity and flushes out skin toxins. The next step is using a good moisturizer that gives you moisture without making you oily. While you do want to re-hydrate your skin, you don't want to become too oily and break out again.Glycolic Acid: To prevent future breakouts use a cleanser with glycolic acid. Glycolic acid is one of the smallest molecules in the alpha hydroxy acids family, which means it can penetrate the skin better than other molecules. It works topically by breaking down sebum on the surface of the skin and works on a deeper layer by triggering the skin's renewal process to bring you brighter, tighter skin. Glycolic acid also unclogs pores and prevents blackheads. Using a glycolic acid cleanser regularly is crucial to maintaining clear skin.
