Caffeine for skin exfoliation, cellulite-reducing, and brightening under-eyes, what can’t caffeine do?Coffees and teas are popular options for morning wake-up calls. They are packed with caffeine to help you get started with the day, filling you up with energy. An 8oz cup of coffee contains 96 mg of caffeine, an 8oz of green tea provides you with 29 mg of caffeine, and black tea contains 47 mg of caffeine. Although these numbers do seem a lot, there is nothing to worry about as long as you’re consuming 400mg or less, which is the average and safe amount of caffeine intake a day.Caffeine’s Beauty BenefitsCaffeine is a vasoconstrictor, which causes your blood vessels to narrow, allowing your skin to look brighter and smoother. Besides boosting your mood and physical performance, caffeine helps stimulate your collagen levels and reduces any signs of aging. As an antioxidant, it prevents and protects your skin from free radicals. Free radicals are damaged cells that can lead to illnesses and aging. Caffeine also contains anti-inflammatory properties to decrease redness, sunburn, and other sun damage.Caffeine in Skincare ProductsCaffeine not only comes in the form of coffee or teas, but it is also an ingredient in your skincare products such as under-eye serums, face masks, and anti-cellulite creams. Skincare products with caffeine have capabilities of reducing fat, the appearance of cellulite, stretch marks, dark circles, and under-eye bags. Make sure you thoroughly massage the product into your skin for better product absorption. This is where lymphatic massage comes in and it helps the body obtain proper blood circulation. I recommend trying my KD Triple Shot Serum which is packed with antioxidants such as green tea polyphenols, resveratrol, and caffeine. This product calms and soothes the skin while guarding the skin against free radical damage. It also visibly reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and puffiness. Caffeine is a short-term remedy so your appearance will only look improved for a couple of hours. These products are not 100% curative and they are no miracle creams, but they are convenient when you are on the go and need last-minute beauty care. Why Should You Save Your Tea Bags?Who else throws their teabags away after using them? This won’t be me anymore after finding out different ways that tea bags can alleviate your puffy eyes and help me obtain glowing skin.

  1. Place your used green tea or black tea bags into the fridge until they cool down, and when they’re ready, just directly put those tea bags on your eyes to see the magic happen in about 10 minutes. This is similar to the cucumber effect.
  2. Tea bags are full of catechins and polyphenols which are great for fighting against acne and aging. Besides leaving tea bags on your eyes, the tea leaves inside can be used as a facial scrub. Simply dry out your used tea bags and then scrub the fillings onto your face with water. This method can prevent bacterial infections and reduce the appearance of acne.
  3. Teabags can be used as a face mask. Blend all the fillings into a thick paste, apply it to your face, and wait for that glow.
